Puttin’ On The Ratz cabaret is back – and what better way to start of the Christmas weekend than with brilliant comedy, bawdy songs, filthy opera and marvellous magic.

Puttin’ On The Ratz! is an immersive 1930s style Vaudeville night at the Water Rats Theatre in Kings Cross. (Think Liza Minnelli’s Cabaret but even smuttier!) Run by comic ++ CHUNKY DISCLAIMER ++ our very own David Lewis, Skint’s Features Editor – it’s a different kind of club night.
MC David hand picks comics and mixes it up with burlesque, music, opera, magic, impressionists plus plenty of audience participation.

The acts perform in black tie or cabaret outfits and audience members are also encouraged to dress to the nines too. The name is a play on the well-known Puttin’ On The Ritz so think faded glamour and an art deco ‘30s vibe.
As always this month includes some notable names.

There’s the hilarious Darren Altman from Britain’s Got Talent, the unmissable Miss Sugar Rush, the fab Ratz resident singer Harriet Braine (Winner, Funny Women, 2016), eye-wateringly funny stand-up from US comic Ellyn Daniels, gloriously filthy opera from soprano Caroline Kennedy as well as magic, music and burlesque acts too.
But the action doesn’t just happen on the stage. Why not buy some vintage trinkets from our usherette? Get a 1930s makeover from our stylist or quaff some bubbles in the stalls. Just make sure you don’t fall foul of our burly bouncer “Smiling” Steve. (He never smiles)
