Get down to a FREE alternative Christmas Party with live music, food, booze and a bright lights switch on at Brixton Village.
The twinkly lights themselves will be turned on at 7pm plus there’ll be Xmas carols to sing along to from The Reggae Choir. Watch out for street food and warming mulled wines to wash it all down. Yum.

The kids are already getting excited about Christmas so quieten them down at the Museum of London for tales of the Thames way back in the olden days!
These are interactive storytelling sessions of the frost fairs that took place when the Thames froze over and elephants could cross the ice. In short, it’s a FREE bit of peace and quiet for parents!

Not one but TWO Xmas switch-ons this Friday night; enter East Village E20 Christmas Market!
The lights are going on at 6.30pm along with Christmas carols plus there’ll be plenty of warming wine and hot choc to go round. If that’s not enough market goers can hop on the free carousel and take a Christmas photo in a life size snow globe. The market continues the next day if you can’t make the Friday night showing.

Swap the tinsel for a trowel and volunteer to plant a tree as part of this FREE city wide initiative.
Londoners from different post codes, backgrounds are getting back to nature and planting a sapling for future generations to enjoy. And best of all there’s dozens of participating venues across the capital so you’ll never be far from the action.

Chanukah, the eight day Jewish festival of lights, begins this weekend and Londoners of all faiths and none are being invited to a north London party to enjoy the action.
The Islington Menorah Lighting is outdoors (wrap up warm) plus there’ll be live klezmer music, traditional dancing, a light show plus kids can enjoy a chance to make a candle, play dreidel and face painting. There’ll also be hundreds of FREE latkes, doughnuts, chocolate money and hot choc for everyone to enjoy!
Oh and watch out for the free Chanukah raffle with prizes including coffee makers and toys. Mazel tov to the winners!
