Ok, there’s no denying it – it’s still going to be brass monkeys out there! But the Beast from the East is moving on (allegedly) so bung on the layers and get out and about.
It may be 100 years since women 30+ got the vote but the demands for equal treatment, pay and prospects remain.
Lend your voice at the #March4Women through central London on Sunday. The procession begins at Millbank and snakes its way to Trafalgar Square. Expect speeches on the specially constructed stage from Sadiq Khan, Bianca Jagger, Sandi Toksvig and Sue Perkins. There’ll be music from all over the world including rockers Biffy Clyro, the all-women Bond String Quartet and X-factor choir, Urban Voices Collective.
Men are also welcome to go and lend their support!

The two-day event will feature bespoke lamps, vases, jewellery pieces from students and established artists. There’ll also be refreshments available, should intensive browsing makes you peckish.

In the build up to International Women’s Day, get down to an afternoon of music, cinema, art as well as specialist talks and film screenings at Hear Our Voices in Waterloo.
The one-off FREE event is a collaboration between House Of Vans and female collective gal-dem (pictured above). Look out for panel discussions on ending violence against women plus a workshop on ending deportations. There’ll also be an independent street market as well as a raffle with all proceeds going to charity.
