Get down to the Greenwich for an afternoon of street food vendors, art design workshops, food pop-ups and talks at the Urban Village Fete! The FREE mini-festival (pictured above) has loads going on; highlights include acrobatic and dance displays from Acrojou, interactive story-telling, a talk by designer Wayne Hemmingway and a poetry reading from Rachel Long.
There’ll also be plenty of chances for the kids to get hands on too. Why not practise at being a DJ, learn how to make jewellery or create some street art using spray cans. For music lovers, tunes will come courtesy of iconic British DJ Gilles Peterson who’ll be on the decks all day.

Timed to coincide with the superstar’s 71st birthday, the retro venue will be serving up tasty ‘Cher-ing’ 2-4-1 cocktails from 5pm to 7pm before everyone’s invited to bop along to the pop Goddess’s greatest hits on the dancefloor!

In the mood for something a litle more refined? Then make straight for a FREE open air classical concert in Trafalgar Square. The famous landmark is hosting the London Symphony Orchestra who’ll play an all-Rachmaninov programme of music.
There’ll also be a rare chance to see 40 young musicians from East London from the LSO’s On Track programme – plus students from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama – who’ll join the orchestra in a specially arranged movements of Symphonic Dances. Large screens and state-of-the-art sound technology should help make it a stunning concert. The musicians will be safely under cover but remember to bring a brolly!

For two whole days, a slice of Spitalfields will be coming alive with the sights, smells and sounds of the Med! SicilyFEST – a two-day FREE to attend festival in Bishops Square – is showcasing the best the sun-drenched island has to offer. There’ll be stalls selling a range of handmade jewellery, unique accessories and home interiors.
As you’d imagine, food will feature highly! Keep an eye out for the tasty traditional cannoli, arancini, pastas, craft beers and wine. There’ll also be photo exhibitions, live music and for the kids the chance to check out the Sicilian Marionettes and Puppets Theatre dating back to 13th Century!
