New exhibition, Sh!t Show opens this week in east London. Surprisingly, it’s not a reference to the current state of our government, but rather a celebration of London’s toilet graffiti.
The unnamed guerilla artist with the self-styled pseudonym, Karma Khazi, is showcasing a collection of almost 100 pieces that he discovered on a pub crawl covering 250 places.
The centrepiece of the show will be a single, black door with 63 pieces of graffiti, all pulled from different toilet cubicles. Expect individual canvases reflecting the graffiti’s messages plus fibreglass pub signs and other sculptures.
The art will be accompanied by a musical soundtrack mixed at Abbey Road studios in addition to a short film by double-BAFTA winning filmmaker Lee Phillips.
