Philip Brooks
21-year-old Philip Brooks has generated a robust fanbase for himself with his dreamy, bedroom pop tracks.
The video for his song Heatwave is beautifully shot on Brighton Pier, with grainy filters that make you feel like you’re watching an early 90s video.
He’s got star quality written all over him, so don’t miss his live performance this month, which is part of the #whowillyoudiscover showcase night. For fans of Declan Mckenna.

SisterTalk
Sistertalk, the five-piece from London, head to The Windmill in Brixton, to mark the release of their debut single ‘Vitriol’.
Championed by DIY Magazine and The Great Escape Festival, this band has fans in high places. Holding their launch at the Windmill, which is renowned for spotting future stars is significant, so if you’re into old new wave, rock jams, then this is the gig for you. For fans of Gary Newman and 80s synth pop.

Fat White Family (DJ Set)
If you can’t afford to get tickets to the band’s upcoming tour, then their DJ set at The Shacklewell Arms, might be the perfect consolation prize.
In this intimate venue, you’ll be up close and personal with the band so if you’re brave enough, go up and request a track. Expect a great track list on the night, from the members of this funky rock group.
The night runs until the early hours, so bring your dancing shoes.

Scala 20th Anniversary
As one of the most renowned music venues in London, the Scala is a staple in the independent music scene and this month, the King’s Cross venue celebrates its 20th anniversary – and it’s doing it in style!
With five days packed full of gigs, you’ll be able to catch Simian Mobile Disco, who are kicking off proceeding on the 19th, followed by acts such as The Orielles and Mellah, also taking part the celebrations, on the 20th with the LGBT club night, Popstarz on the Friday.
The anniversary culminates with a huge finale on the night of the 23rd with 20 DJs celebrating 20 years of Garage Music.
